Our Purpose.
Built by a Detroit Mother Who Needed a Better Way
In 2019, Loletta Eiland — a single mother and Detroit native — faced a problem she could not find a solution for: getting her child to school reliably while holding down a job.
Rather than wait for someone else to fix it, she built the solution herself. That is how Bubbles Transportation was born.

Today, Bubbles is Detroit’s only child-exclusive transportation service, providing safe, reliable, and professional rides for children ages 6 months through 17 years old.
We serve working parents who need more than a rideshare app. They need a trusted partner they can count on every single morning.
Breaking the Cycle of Transportation Insecurity
Transportation insecurity is one of Detroit’s most urgent and least talked-about challenges.
When children cannot get to school, attendance suffers. When parents cannot get to work, families fall behind. Bubbles exists to help break that cycle — one reliable ride at a time.

Every trip is driven by a background-checked driver in a vehicle equipped with proper car seats and real-time GPS tracking through the Home Base app.
Bubbles offers one-way trips, weekly round-trip contracts, sibling bundles, and weekend and event rides — all booked and paid directly by the parents who depend on us.

Our mission is to provide safe, timely and dependable transportation services for kids to
and from school. We value education and being on time. We understand that the life of a
parent is chaotic and that work schedules change and we’re here to help. Let us provide a
service to lighten the load of getting your child to school safely and on time.
History
I started this company to provide a service for working parents. As working parents ourselves, finding transportation for our kids was a challenge. I would pay people to take our kids to school, but often they would be late or not picked up for school. This became an issue for me, so I decided to do something about it. Bubbles Transportation Company LLC was created in October of 2019, to provide transportation to kids to school and to ease the load for the working parent. I left my full time position at Chrysler Stellantis Automotive Company of 13 years to create this service. There have been challenges but with no sacrifice, there’s no victory. We pride ourselves in being able to be an anchor in the lives of the families we serve.

The stakes are too high to ignore.
Detroit's students are facing an education crisis — and transportation is at the center of it. A Wayne State University report revealed that 70% of Detroit students were chronically absent in the last school year, up from 62% in 2018–2019. Even more alarming, 54% were considered severely chronically absent, meaning they missed 20% or more of the school year. Before COVID, chronic absenteeism stood at 45% — after the pandemic, it climbed to 57% and has yet to recover. (Detroit Free Press, December 20, 2021)
In Michigan, a student is considered chronically absent after missing just 10% of school days. And the reasons behind those missed days are rarely simple. Many students lack reliable transportation. Older siblings are left home to care for younger ones. Life gets in the way — and children pay the price. The impact doesn't stop with students, either. School districts stand to lose critical state funding if fewer than 75% of students meet attendance requirements — a threshold Detroit Public Schools has already fallen short of on multiple recent days. These are tomorrow's leaders sitting at home when they should be in a classroom. Bubbles Transportation exists to change that. We're here to remove one of the most solvable barriers between Detroit's children and their education — because a ride to school can change the trajectory of a life.
